Keyla and James: January 28, 2012

Keyla and James came to me a few months before their chilly January nuptials at Inn On The Twenty.  They wanted a winter wonderland look to accompany the snowy twenty mile creek Valley beyond the Windows.  Thank goodness we created winter inside as there was not one snowflake in the valley!

Keyla wanted a mix of grey and white in her bouquet and we acheived that using white hydrangea, fringed tulips, spray roses, and anemone.  The grey accents of brunnia and dusty miller foliage popped in the bouquet. 

  The groomsmen wore boutonnieres of brunnia and dusty miller while the grooms boutonniere added an accent of hydrangea

The centerpieces were simple masses of baby's breath: very reminicent of snow flakes!

Michelle and Craig October 22, 2011

I love it when a groom gets involved in the floral planning process.  Craig was at every meeting we had and always had valuable input.  You could tell that he wanted to create the most perfect day for Michelle. 

When I arrived at Michelle's home to  deliver her flowers I was surprised to see that the church she was getting married in was right around the corner from her home.  Michelle had the services of a limo that day, but she wanted to walk to her wedding, I give these girls credit in those heels!!

Michelle chose a pink and purple colour scheme for her wedding and reception florals.  For her decadent bouquet we used Valentina phalaenopsis orchids, dark pink dendrobium orchids, purple roses and dark purple calla lilies

For the ceremony purple hydrangea were tied to the pews with cascading seeded eucalyptus and eggplant ribbon.  We also attatched dark pink dendrobium orchids to our Manzanita trees and massed purple hydrangea and roses at the base.

The reception was held at John Michaels Banquet and Conference Centre were we placed submerged orchid centerpieces on every table.

The manzanita tree's from the ceremony were transfered to the reception and added dramatic effect to the head table

The final touch was a cascade of phalaenopsis orchids down the beautiful cake done by Vineyard Sweets

Ashley and Brad: September 10, 2011

With St. Patricks Day yesterday I think I was inspired to post this very Irish looking wedding for you all!
White and green was on the menu for Ashley and Brads lovely and sunny Montabello park wedding ceremony.  These colours meshed perfectly with her black bridesmaids dresses and reception decor.

I was super excited to be working with my friend Eva Derrick of Eva Derrick Photography on this wedding.  I am especially excited to now be working with Eva to create her perfect wedding flowers this June!  Have a look at all of Eva's beautiful pictures of the day.

Ashley fell in love with the organic/funky look of green trick dianthus (it's the mossy looking one) and green berzillia berries.  We combined them with classic blooms like roses, dahlia, hydrangea and freesia to soften the bouquet.  A modern touch was added with the green spider mums.

A green criss-cross accent layered over black ribbon was added to the bouquet handles to tie in with the colour theme.

The groom opted for a simple boutonniere of green trick dianthus and foliage

Garland of white and green hydrangea along with seeded eucalyptus and salal was added to the railings of the pergola.  These were later re-used along the head table.

Ceremony arrangements of curly willow with white spider mums pinned in the branches stood beside the couple.

Melanie and Kris: August 6, 2011

Not only do Melanie and I share a fantastic namesake but we also share a love for bold colour in florals.  Melanie's jade/aqua bridesmaids dresses were the stepping stone to a plethera of jewel toned hues with pops of yellow. 

Melanie and Kris were married at St. Kevin's church in Welland followed by an elegant reception at John Michaels  The images were captured by their friend, the very talented Brian Caporicci.

Melanie's bridal bouquet consisted of Dahlia, trachelium, lisianthus, brain celosia, green hydrangea and yellow billy balls.  The groom wore a dahlia boutonniere in a co-ordinating hot pink 

For the ceremony tall cylinder vases were topped with bold coloured blooms mixed with white and curly willow

The centerpieces consisted of purple kale, pink roses, curly willow, green and white hydrangea, purple carnations and green spider mums.

Janelle and Chris Dec 10, 2011

When I first met Janelle and Chris I was impressed by what a clear vision Janelle had for her day.  Tons of inspirational pictures and endless descriptions.  When she first told me that she wanted roses and babies breath I had a bad flashback image (circa 1980), but it's all about how you use these flowers.  So we took a modern twist on the classics.  For their ceremony and reception at Queens Landing we used a neutral pallette of white and soft pink.  Janelle chose a mix of regular and spray roses for her bouquet which was finished with a massed ring of babies breath.

The bridesmaids carried a bouquet of baby's breath and the groomsmen wore a mound of the same.

We also worked hand in hand with one of our fav's on this wedding:  Gala Decor We LOVED the head table backdrop and the gold guest table linens made the centerpieces pop.

 Baby's breath is the perfect representation of snow for a winter wedding.  So we went all out!  It was in the ceremony arrangements along with white branches and hanging candles

The head table was decked out in mounded arrangements of baby's breath, hydrangea and spray roses as well as white branches for accent.

The receiving table was accented with an arrangement of branches and hanging crystals
